Dave loves building community!

G. David Gale is president of Gale Communities, Inc., the developer of three major, multi-use projects in Lee’s Summit, Missouri: Winterset (with five named neighborhoods), New Longview, and Arborwalk. Since inception these award winning projects have delivered 2,400 single-family and 860 multi-family “renter-by-choice” projects in three different locations, along with 300,000 square feet of commercial space plus elementary schools, a church, numerous parks, etc. Winterset has grown from an initial 1989 purchase of 230 acres to 1,200 acres with over 1,000 homes and hundreds of acres of forested parkland. Winterset has received more national environmental awards and designations than any other Master Planned Community in the four state region. Phase 31 is now under construction.

In addition, Gale Communities has led master planning projects for the city of Gladstone, Missouri and Mission, Kansas and been integral in several, regional flex-tech and office developments. Dave is Canadian trained in property development and community design. Between 1972 and 1989 he and his partner created, expanded and ultimately sold Canadian Framing and Art Group (a national retail, warehousing, distribution & commercial property development business based in Toronto) to Deck the Walls. He made his first land investment in Lee’s Summit, Missouri in 1989. Resident in Lee’s Summit since 1996, he is an active community volunteer having served on the boards of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, Eastland Foundation, Real Estate Community Foundation, Lee’s Summit Civic Roundtable, Premier Life, New Longview Foundation and was charter president of Lee’s Summit Sunrise Rotary. He is a past chair of the Johnson County Art Council, John Knox Village and the Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council. He is President of the Winterset Community Association.
